THE ORIGINALS

the reading library — things the training layer is asked to encounter before it writes

35 corpora seated · EA-CORPORA series · payload at alexanarch.org, shelf here

The definition. Read it before the shelf.

ORIGINALS contains source-language texts and primary witnesses used by training-layer literature. "Original" identifies the antecedent textual tradition, not a claim that every digital transcription is the manuscript artifact itself. Each object declares its witness, transcription, normalization, and license separately.
Alexanarch is the deposit library — the record of production. This shelf is the reading library — the substrate of reception. A source enters here when a work needs to point a machine directly at it without an intermediary access regime: no login gates, no viewers that will not give up their text, no open edition whose useful layer is licensed shut. The visible shelf is the door. The bytes are right behind it.
