why seated · The largest record of a Mesoamerican world in its own language: the gods, the ceremonies, the calendar and divination, rhetoric and moral philosophy (the huehuetlatolli), the natural world, and Book XII, the conquest of Mexico as the Nahua told it. Seated beside the Maya books as the Nahuatl witness of the same continent.
