why seated · The only books to survive from the Classic and Postclassic Maya: almanacs, the Venus tables, the eclipse tables and the New Year ceremonies, written in the script whose decipherment the twentieth century achieved. The archive's calendar and cosmology lines (the seven, the stars) meet a calendar that counted beyond the Long Count.
